It’s the middle of the week. And hopefully at day 16 of 30, we are halfway through the stay at home order. I am afraid though, it may be extended a bit longer. Maybe it needs to be.
A grocery store chain out of Iowa, which has stores here in the Kansas City area, has a new commercial about heroes, with the song Holding Out For A Hero playing in the background. During the one minute commercial they show different types of heroes. Scientist, medical professionals, military, first responders, and yes, grocery employees, all working and risking their safety. This is the kind of commercial that will punch you hard in the feels. Our country and the world is going through something that hasn’t happened at this magnitude in probably over 100 years. Thankfully our technology has advanced such to where we can hopefully, prayerfully soon contain this monster, and stop the sadness and the death toll.
We don’t know what tomorrow holds. Only God does. But those of us who are Christians, who have placed our faith in Christ alone to save us, we should fear not. We know, nothing, nothing, is too big for God to handle. And whatever may happen in this life, we look forward to that glorious day which is sung in a classic hymn, which is one of my personal favorites. Here is the last stanza from It Is Well.
O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend;
even so, it is well with my soul.
Is it well with your soul? If the clouds are rolled back today, and Christ appears, are you ready? If not you can be. Call out to Him to save you today, right now.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
